After many rumors today the news is official. Lanvin is the luxury brand with which h&m is preparing one of its famous “special collection” for this autumn. For now the only thing that we know is the official logo of the collaboration, and a short statement of Alber Elbaz, the artistic director of the maison, but we are confident that we’ll see also the images very soon.
Otherwise the wait will not be too long: we must wait until November 23, the day the collection will be sale around the world. Stay tuned!
Direttamente dall’Apple Event conclusosi poco fa a San Francisco ecco il nuovo, nuovissimo iPod Nano. Dopo anni di restiling parziali, finalmente un prodotto completamente nuovo. Nella forma prima di tutto, che si riduce ad un piccolo quadrato e soprattutto nell’introduzione di uno schermo multi-touch che va a sostituire la tradizionale ghiera. Un piccolo iPod Touch, che mantiene inalterate le sue funzioni primarie di portabilità e maneggevolezza, amplificate dall’applicazione della comoda clip, e dalla superba batteria (24 ore di utilizzo non stop).
Colorato come sempre, bello, bellissimo (non avevamo dubbi), il nuovo Nano è già disponibili online sull’Apple Store nei classici formati 8gb a 149 dollari e 16 gb a 179 dollari. Rifatevi gli occhi. Altre foto dopo il jump!
Directly from the Apple Event just finished in San Francisco theiPod Nano. After years of partial restyling, Apple presents a completely new product. First of all in the form, that is reduced to a small square and especially with the introduction of a multi-touch screen that replaces the traditional ring. Like a small iPod Touch, which maintains its primary functions of portability and ease of handling, amplified by the usefull clip, and by a very superb battery (24 hours non stop).
Colourful as always, beautiful (we had no doubts), the new Nano is already available online on Apple Store in the traditional formats: 8GB for $149 and 16GB for $179. Feast your eyes. More photos after the jump!
Questa sera, in live streaming dallo Yerba Buena Center for the Arts di San Francisco, si terrà il consueto evento Apple. Sono attesi i nuovi iPod touch, un iPod nano totalmente ridisegnato (pare con l’introduzione del touchscreen) e la presentazione della nuova iTV. La vera sopresa potrebbe essere l’iPad Mini, ma staremo a vedere… Da segnalare una piccola “cattiveria” di Apple, che se da un lato liberalizza la conferenza con la possibilità di seguirla live, in streaming dal proprio sito, dall’altro fa una severa selezione all’ingresso, permettendone la visione solo agli utenti mac.
Tonight, live streaming from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, there will be the usual Apple event. Expected are a new iPod touch, a completely redesigned iPod nano (it seems with the introduction of touch screen) and the presentation of new iTV. The real surprise could be the iPad Mini, but we’ll see … To report a little “unkindness” of Apple that, while liberalized the conference with the possibility to watch it live from their site, on the other side was selective, allowing the vision only to Mac users.

La galleria UNO+UNO inaugura la stagione espositiva con una mostra a cura di Stuart Semple. L’irriverente artista cool della scena britannica firma questo progetto espositivo intitolandolo con emblematica “modestia”: This is England. Gli artisti invitati (fra gli altri David Hancock, Nicky Carvell e Richard Galloway) sono, infatti, tutti amici e tutti più o meno coetanei, tutti - inutile dirlo - acclamati trasgressivi, ultima espressione della cultura londinese.
Ciò che accomuna tutti gli artisti in mostra è uno sguardo assolutamente contemporaneo e scanzonato nei confronti della cultura e talvolta del perbenismo inglesi. Un atteggiamento giocoso, immediato e irrispettoso a dispetto delle solide tradizioni anglosassoni.

Gallery UNO+UNO opens the season with an exhibition curated by Stuart Semple. The irreverent British artist autograph this exhibition project with the emblematic and “modest” title: This is England. The invited artists (among others David Hancock, Nicky carvell and Richard Galloway) are, in fact, all friends of Stuart Semple, and all more or less the same age, all - it’s not necessary to say - acclaimed transgressive, ultimate expression of culture in London.
The thing that unites all the artists in the exhibition is a very contemporary and easy-going look against the culture of respectability. A playful attitude, immediate and disrespectful in the face of strong anglosaxon traditions.

Madokadoke Bracelet LED Watch di Ross McBride (Normal Design)è un orologio che non sembra un orologio. Nasce come parte di IDEA International’s, progetto che sfida i designers a trovare nuove forme di design dietro a oggetti che hanno già forma. In questo caso l’orologio di nasconde in un bracciale, confondendo design e utilizzo. I numeri che indicano le ore e i minuti sono infatti invisibili fino a che la parte centrale del bracciale non viene sfiorata. Bell’ idea!
The Madokadoke Bracelet LED Watch by Ross McBride (Normal Design) is a watch without having the presence of a watch. It’s a part of IDEA International’s, anew design project that challenges to find product design possibilities beyond those that already exist. In this case the watch is hides in a bangle, confusing design and use. The numbers that indicate the hours and minutes are in fact invisible until the middle of the bracelet is not touched. Great idea!

Rui Pereira (Portogallo) e Hafsteinn Juliusson(Islanda, ne abbiamo già parlato qui), entrambi di base a Milano, hanno dato vita ad una collezione di piatti per HAF, decorati su modello di veri grafici nutrizionali, per ricordarci sempre quali sono i valori che dovrebbe avere una sana alimentazione. Disponibili in tre varianti: Diet, Extra ordinary and Supersize, per adattarsi ad ogni esigenza.
Sono prodotti artigianalmente in un piccolo studio di ceramica di Reykjavík. Come dire, unici e speciali.
There are a bit of Portugal, a bit of Iceland and a bit of Italy in these funny and original plates. Rui Pereira (Portugal) and Hafsteinn Juliusson (Iceland, we’ve already talked about him here), both based in Milan, have started a collection of plates for HAF, decorated like a model of true nutritional charts to always remember us the values of an healthy diet. Available in three variants: Diet, Extra Ordinary and supersize to adapt to each requirement.
The plates are handmade in a small studio in Reykjavík. Unique and special.
Ho sempre pensato che i libri siano una “materia prima” di grande impatto e bellezza nell’arredamento. Devono pensarla allo stesso modo i designer tedeschi di 100 Landschaftsarchitekturche, in collaborazione con l’artista canadese Rodney LaTourelle, hanno creato questo sorprendente “giardino” per l’ International Festival des Jardins, in corso fino al prossimo ottobre nella cittadina canadese di Metis. I libri sono accatastati a formare pareti, camere e posti a sedere, oppure sepolti per diventare pavimentazione. Ma non solo: fra un libro e l’altro sono inserite coltivazioni di otto specie di funghi che contribuiscono ad accellerare il processo di decomposizione della carta e ad amalgamare fra loro elementi diversi, con risultati davvero suggestivi.
I always thought that books are a “raw material” of great beauty and impact in furnishing. The German designer of 100 Landschaftsarchitektur must think the same. They have created, in collaboration with the Canadian artist Rodney Latourelle, this amazing “garden” for the International Festival des Jardins, ongoing until next October in Metis, Canada. The books are stacked to form walls, rooms and seats, or to become buried pavement. Than, eight varieties of mushroom are cultivated on selected books, speeding their decay into the landscape. That help to accelerate the decomposition of paper and mix together different elements, with very impressive results.
